torvair

Welcome to my 1967 Torvair Web Site. What is a Torvair? It is a 1967 Corvair 500 with a 1967 Toronado Drive train. This car was completed in 2004 and has only 6,000 miles on it. It features a Oldsmobile 425 CI V-8 bored to 430 ci, automatic transmission, 4 wheel power disk brakes and a complete body restoration/rebuild.

This is one of only 12 known Corvairs with the Toronado front wheel drive transplant. This conversion retains the rear seat. The car has front and rear trunks and the engine is totally hidden. Access is by removal of a panel in the rear trunk, removal of the rear window shelf and via an access panel behind the folding rear seat. Overall not hard to access or work on. It needs nothing and is ready to enjoy.

For Sale:

This car has won many awards and is not for someone shy. It is not only show but it has the go! Drives easily in both city and highway. It is being offered at the Owls Head Transportation Museum Auction on August 22nd. For more information call 860-658-7878 or e-mail larry@larryboardman.com.
